Planning a surprise proposal for somebody who doesn’t like surprises poses a set of unique challenges. I knew Hunter would be grilling everyone every day to see when I was proposing. He sure enough was. He cornered everyone and tried to get it out of everyone, but no one budged. I want to give a big shout out to his sister Raven for helping me keep it a secret. She and I were able to convince Hunter I was going to propose during Christmas time. He had no idea the Halloween party we were planning was my plan for the proposal.

I was asking him for months when he was going to pop the question. I never could get anything out of him, so I would corner everybody from my side and his side of the family asking if they knew a timeline. When I got to Kayla and Raven, they were being super standoffish so I knew it was going to be soon. Then, days before Halloween, which is my favorite holiday, we were having a Halloween party with our families and we were doing a pumpkin carving contest. Once everyone was done, we both walked outside with the pumpkins hidden behind the family. I was supposed to judge all the carved pumpkins. I closed my eyes and let everyone move, and when I opened them, Andrew was standing beside me with the engagement rings and the pumpkins were carved with "Will you marry me." I of course said yes.
